Congratulations to the children

**RESPECTED REPRESENTATIVES AND PARTNERS OF THE MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND WATER;
DISTINGUISHED REPRESENTATIVES OF THE SPONSORING COMPANIES OF THE INAUGURAL CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL, “EMBRACING THE FUTURE”;

CHERISHED PARENTS AND GUARDIANS OF THESE WONDERFUL CHILDREN GATHERED HERE:**

It is with great joy that I stand before you today to honor the Day of the African Child, which we will celebrate tomorrow, June 16.

The phrase, “To children, everything they deserve,” remains a powerful reminder of the responsibility we carry as adults.

Guided by this principle, the Ministry of Energy and Water, in alignment with its commitment to social responsibility, has embraced the opportunity to support this festival, “Embracing the Future.” This event is designed to bring together parents, children, guardians, and the members of our sector in an engaging and educational setting.

Reflecting on our own journeys from childhood to adulthood, we owe gratitude to our parents, who, despite hardships, provided the foundations that shaped us into who we are today.

We now bear the responsibility of nurturing these boys and girls, striving to provide for both their spiritual and material needs. In doing so, we uphold the 11 Rights of the Child established by the Government of Angola in 2007. These rights include provisions for survival, food security, birth registration, early and primary education, vocational training, juvenile justice, HIV/AIDS prevention, protection against violence, social welfare, and family support systems.

TO THE EDUCATORS AND CAREGIVERS OF THESE CHILDREN,
Let us intensify our efforts to guide them through their growth, ensuring they receive the direction needed for their academic, vocational, and professional futures. As the old saying teaches us, “Shape the tree while it is still a sapling.”

And to you, dear young friends, let me ask: What do you dream of becoming in the future?

  • Electrical technicians?
  • Water specialists?

As someone leading the electricity and water sectors, I sincerely hope that many of you will pursue careers in these fields. Your contributions will ensure the operation and maintenance of vital infrastructure—dams, energy transmission lines, electricity and water production centers, and more—essential to advancing Angola’s energy and water industries.

It is a true privilege to welcome the celebrated musician Maya Cool, a beloved figure in our nation’s children’s music, to this joyful occasion.

In conclusion, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the event organizer, Celso Mambo, the animation team, Clown Tawas, musician Neru Americano, and the sector’s dedicated leaders and technicians for their contributions.

My deep appreciation also goes to our generous sponsors, including PRODEL, RNT, ENDE, EPAL, K Business, ENG Consult, and DAR.

Finally, my warmest gratitude to all the children and their guardians for joining us in this celebration.

Thank you all!
