IV Dialogue on Energy Security Between Angola and the United States
The IV Dialogue on Energy Security between Angola and the United States took place on June 13 at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. This meeting aimed to discuss the measures for enhancing energy security in Angola, with a specific focus on energy production and access to electricity.
João Baptista Borges, Angola’s Minister of Energy and Water, led the Angolan delegation, while the U.S. delegation was chaired by Geoffrey Pyatt, the Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) focused on matters related to ensuring a dependable and stable energy supply, as well as strengthening commercial partnerships in this field.
Discussions between João Baptista Borges and Geoffrey Pyatt centered on maintaining a secure and stable energy supply, enhancing trade relationships in the sector, and addressing issues of energy security.
Also present at the meeting were José Barroso, Secretary of State for Petroleum in Angola; Pedro Afonso, Chairman of PRODEL-EP; Rui Gourgel, Chairman of RNT-EP; Helder Adão, Chairman of ENDE; Sebastião Martins, Chairman of Sonangol; José Quarta, Board Representative of IRSEA; along with representatives from ANPG.
